THE LIGHT KEEPER
SCULPTURE LAMP, SELENITE CRYSTAL

This lamp is the first in a series of sculpture lamps that I am working on. The concept is based on the coexistence of technology and nature. In this series, I am combining organic forms, traditional woodworking techniques and integrating state of the art lighting components. These sculpture lamps feature LED lamps, rotary and touch dimmer controls, natural stone crystals, and hand blown art glass globes.

Selenite Light Beam- Artist: Glenn Clegg

This lamp features an 8″ Selenite crystal that is illuminated from the bottom chamber with a single LED lamp. It emits 200 lumens and is dimmable by a pine cone rotary dimmer switch. This is a warm color, low light accent lamp that will make a nice bed side night light. The lamp measures 12″ wide and 28″ tall.  The sculpture is made of rough hewed walnut hardwood and a wild vine, assembled using oak dowels and butterfly joints then finished with Danish oil and matt varnish. The LED bulb can be accessed by a removable door at the front of the chamber. Click on a the below to see a larger image.
